Speaker & Listener Locations

Item: Using iterative, computer-based acoustic prediction software, specify optimum locations for listeners and all loudspeakers (fronts, surrounds and subwoofers).

Relevance: Everyone who has ever moved a pair of speakers around in a room has experienced the often dramatic effects placement can make. The difference between disappointing sound and great sound often comes down to trying dozens of placement combinations. Keith Yates Design Group employs special engineering software to profile thousands—usually tens of thousands—of possible layouts in a given room, and then run a routine that ranks the results so we can pinpoint the best mathematically-optimized spatial coordinates (locations) for all speakers and the listeners in the room. This process takes the guesswork out of the equation and is proprietary to Keith Yates Design Group.

Form: Dimensioned, computer-generated drawings.
