Acoustic Treatment
Item:
Specify type, quantity, make, model and location of wall- and
ceiling-mounted acoustic treatment (e.g., absorbers, diffusors,
reflectors, pressure traps and compound devices) to optimize sound quality
of the playback system at the specified listening locations.
Relevance:
Getting the acoustic environment
right is the "make or break" part of any A/V venue, whether it's a
Home Theater, Media Room, Precision Listening Environment, or even
a studio control room. Many, perhaps most, extensively "sound treated"
rooms are vaguely unpleasant or even eery to be in; rooms designed
by Keith Yates Design Group are characteristically free of this all-too-common
defect because they're designed from both experience and knowledge
of psychoacoustics, the study
of the relationship between the physical components of sound (frequency,
pressure, etc.) and the perceptions they give rise to in humans.
Form: Computer-generated, dimensioned drawings and list of
manufacturers (name, address, telephone, fax, etc.).
